KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Jan. 17, 2011) — The Super Chevy Show has been a fixture for 30 years, and in a way of celebrating its history, the Super Chevy Show is honoring its past with its “Winners from the First 30 Years” series that will pay homage to past winners at superchevyshow.com.
The first of the series features Bill “Bird” Johnson and his winning 1963 Impala SS, which topped the competition at Super Chevy Shows in Dallas in 1991, ’99 and 2002, and at Oklahoma City, Okla. in 1993.
But Johnson’s story goes back further than that.
His tale began in 1963 when he purchased a brand new Chevy Impala in Wayne, Mich. But his dream car was destroyed by fire in 1971, forcing him to rebuild.
“When I moved to Tulsa (Okla.) in 1974, I found a rust-free ’63 Impala SS,” Johnson said.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Jan 4, 2011) — The Super Chevy Show’s return to the Pacific Northwest will come sooner than expected.
The national touring series’ event at Spokane County Raceway in Airway Heights, Wash., originally scheduled for Aug. 26-28, will now take place on July 29-31, Super Chevy Show announced today.
The switch in dates is expected to benefit the car show, drag race, and autocross participants, as well as fans who will be able to experience all the pluses of the series making a stop in the Pacific Northwest. The switch will not affect the date for Super Chevy Show’s return to Canada with the event at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. That event will keep its date for Labor Day weekend on Sept. 2-4, as part of Super Chevy Show’s 12-event 2011 schedule, which begins in April
