KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Aug. 12) — The Super Chevy Show is a way for adults to enjoy a hobby they grew up with, whether it be racing on the quartermile drag strip, or showing their classic or contemporary car.

Now, thanks to Revell, Inc., kids can get involved.

Revell, the leader in replica plastic kits since 1945, is sponsoring a Make ‘N Take program at the remaining four events on the Super Chevy Show 30th anniversary season, including the Denver Super Show, which is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 20-Sunday, Aug. 22 at Bandimere Speedway. The program, which will enable boys and girls to come to the car show awards tent and build their own model kit with help from expert modelers at no additional charge, was a big hit at the Maple Grove Super Chevy Show event in July.

Revell will also sponsor the program at Super Chevy Show events in Houston (Sept. 11-12), Bristol, Tenn. (Sept. 24-26) and Phoenix (Oct.22-24).

“Revell is excited for the genuine partnership with the Super Chevy Show to expose kids to the fun in building a scale model Chevy automobile kit while at the event,” said Rick Haas, director of marketing for Revell, Inc. “They can take home their very own model of a car they may have seen at the show and continue the new hobby they started as a car enthusiast.”

Local modeling clubs will provide experts at each of the four remaining events to assist parents and their kids working on models throughout the weekend.

The Make ‘N Take program, which will be held at the Denver Super Show between noon and 2 p.m on Saturday and Sunday of the event, is designed to build interest among children in the model building hobby and become future car enthusiasts, like their parents.

It’s also another part of the entertainment taking place at the remaining four Super Chevy Shows.

“Being a family-operated track, we are very excited for the Revell ‘Make ‘N Take” program,” said Cody Parker, Bandimere Speedway marketing and special event coordinator. “It gives families a chance to spend quality time together.”

The Make ‘N Take program will be one of several draws to the Denver Super Chevy Show. The others include a solid core of West region participants for the car show, along with sportsman and pro show drag racing. The pro show will be highlighted by an appearance from the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association and Ed Jones’ Wheelstander.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 23) – It’s time to head west for the Super Chevy Show.

The national touring series will conclude its 30th anniversary season with two of its final four races out west, the first scheduled for Friday, Aug. 20-Sunday, Aug. 22 at Bandimere Speedway near Denver, Colo. Then, following events in Houston and Bristol, Tenn. the season concludes at Firebird International Raceway near Phoenix on Friday, Oct. 22-Sunday, Oct. 24.

There's a lot of excitement for the series with the new owners.
“We’ve been involved with Super Chevy Show for years,” said racing personality Lucky Hudson, who will be at both events as a racer and sponsor, representing Currie Enterprises, with manufactures high-performance rearends. “There’s a lot of excitement for the series with the new owners. We’re a West-based company, so these two events are very important to us and our customers.”

The Denver Super Chevy Show presented by Stevinson Chevrolet will be highlighted by a pro show that features the Six Second West Coast Outlaw Pro Mods, and a wheelstander. The weekend will also include sportsman racing; a car show and a vendor swap meet. There is also the Car Toys Aftershock Stage, which will provide round the clock entertainment.

The Phoenix Super Chevy Show, which will conclude the 10-race season, is one of the most-anticipated races on the tour, as this will be the Super Chevy Show’s first visit to Firebird International Raceway in five seasons.

The highlights for the season finale will be the heroes of the Nostalgic Funny Car Show, who pay homage to drag racing’s glory days while still providing some fantastic side-by-side competition. The show also will feature sportsman racing, the car show and vendor swap meet. An autocross is also scheduled at this event.

“The Phoenix race is going to be such a big draw,” said Hudson, who in addition to representing Currie Enterprises will also be at the two races with his live online television show, Speed Scene Live. The show can be accessed via the Internet at speedsceneracing.com.”This (event) draws a lot of fans and racers from Texas and Southern California, in addition to the fans from Arizona. A lot of them came to the first race in Las Vegas, and are excited to come back.

“They are looking forward it and with the track recently resurfaced, it should be one of the top events of the season.”
