It’s been half a decade since the drag racing facility has hosted the Super Chevy Show, a streak that ends this weekend when the national touring series, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, returns to Southern Texas for a two-day event on Saturday and Sunday.

Various other door prizes will also be available, including $500 in Exxon Mobile gas cards, a set of GM chrome nerf bars, two Chevy truck bedliners, two sets of his and her Chevy watches, O’Reilly Auto Parts gift cards and much more.

“We want to reward the people participating in the street cruise Saturday morning, so we are giving away a trip on a Carnival Cruise ship,” said Seth Angel, HRP general manager. “If we have 50-100 participants in the street cruise from Ron Craft Chevrolet over to the track Saturday morning, your odds of winning are pretty good.”

The show will also feature three classes of sportsman drag racing; a first-class car show, including the new non-judged Bowtie Boulevard; Revell’s Make-N-Take model-building program for kids; an autocross; a swap meet featuring several vendors and thanks to C.U.N.D.N Racing of Pearland, Texas, a portable dynamometer that will be available to all participants.

The autocross, which has become popular at other Super Chevy Show events this season, is scheduled for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday. It offers single runs over a road-type course, with competitors racing against the clock.
