US 131 Car Show

Martin, MI – US 131 Motorsports Park has rescheduled the rained out Super Chevy Show to be run on July 11-12.  In celebration of American Made Muscle, the Super Chevy Show will run in conjunction with the Fun Ford Series Event scheduled on July 12.  Originally, the Super Chevy Show was going to be moved to September, but the date conflicted with the two other automobile events in the area.

“This is an excellent opportunity for us to celebrate Detroit and American Made Muscle with these two brands,” US 131 Motorsports Park General Manager Jason Peterson stated. “We will have two separate car/truck shows, one for GM makes and one for Ford.  There will be one large swap meet, car corral, and separate brand racing classes.”

To bring further excitement to this celebration there will be a “Battle of the Brands” on Sunday, where the winner of the Ford bracket class and one winner of the GM classes, (to be determined in a race between the two GM class winners), will face off against one another. The “Battle of the Brands” winner will take home a unique trophy and an additional $300.  The DOT Street winner will take home an extra $100.

On Friday, July 10 the Super Chevy Show “Car Show & Shine Festival” kicks off from noon – 5 p.m. US 131 MSP will host an open Test and Tune/Monster Midnight Madness testing on track from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.  Gate admission is: $10, car and driver $25, and after 8pm the price drops to $5 and $15 for car and driver. Fans can also attend the Super Chevy Show Menards Kickoff Event from 6pm-8pm at the Menards store in Wyoming, Michigan. Those who show up with Chevy show cars will receive a 1/2 price voucher for their car show entry.

The Super Chevy Show racing action kicks off on Saturday, July 11. The GM car show, as well as swap meet and car corral area, will be bustling with deals and unique parts.  Saturday at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. fans will see Nostalgia Pro Stocks and the 300 miles-per-hour “Queen of Diamonds” jet-powered Dragster blazing down “The Fastest Track in Michigan.”

“Celebrating American Made Muscle” is Sunday, July 12.  Detroit brands GM and Ford will be competing in their respective racing classes.  GM Bracket 1 (Top ET), GM Bracket 2 (Modified ET) both paying $2500 to win with a $75 entry fee, GM DOT Street paying $750 to win with a $50 entry fee as well as two separate Jr. Dragster Classes paying $200 to win with a $35 entry fee.  Ford racers will compete in a one class combo ET, (Top ET and Modified) paying $1200 to win with a $50 entry fee and a Ford Street class paying $200 to win with a $25 entry fee.

There will be two separate judged cars show going on, one for GM and one for Ford.  There will be a large combined area for swap meet and car corral participants.

Gate admission is $15 for adults on Saturday and Sunday, children ages 6 – 12 are $5 each day, under six are free.  Gates open at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday for spectators, 8 a.m. for vendors and participants only.  Car/Truck Show judging starts at noon with awards at 4 p.m. each day. Swap meet and car corral fees are $45 for a 20×20 space and judged car show fees are $45 for two-day GM participants or $35 for one-day GM and Sunday Ford participants.
