Season Kickoff Activities Shine at the Super Chevy Show presented by Chevrolet Performance at Palm Beach International Raceway
JUPITER, Fla. (March 21, 2013) – Palm Beach International Raceway is revved and ready for the “Super Chevy Show presented by Chevrolet Performance” to roll into Florida for the season opener on March 22-24, 2013.
The accelerating and enjoyable weekend includes exhilarating drag races, an incredible car and truck show, plus a time-honored swap meet.
Super Chevy Magazine is gearing up for a memorable weekend at PBIR, “Super Chevy Magazine is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and it’s only fitting that we kick off the Super Chevy Show season at Palm Beach International Raceway,” said Editor Jim Campisano. “After all, some of the earliest Super Chevy events were held here. On top of that, Palm Beach International will have something for everyone—drag racing, car show, autocross, and our AMSOIL Best of the Best car show competition.” –Jim Campisano, Editor Super Chevy Magazine.
To celebrate the 40th Anniversary, Super Chevy Magazine is hosting a special Triathlon for participants, including drag racing, autocross and a brake stop challenge on Saturday.
Donnie Hancock from South East Rods & Customs car club will host the Car Show & Truck on Saturday with registration starting at 9:00 a.m.
Famed Harry “The Hat” will host the Swap Meet again this year. Harry LaPlatte has been attending drag races around the country since 1964 and plans to have, what has become traditional fresh coffee for the early risers again this year. Harry said, “Saturday morning coffee is a must, vendors love it and I don’t want anyone to have to drive ten miles to get something I can easily offer them.”
The Super Chevy Show’s action packed weekend is great for auto and race enthusiasts of all ages. This year the kids will have the opportunity to build a Corvette at noon in the Car Show Awards tent on Saturday and Sunday as part of the Revell Make ‘N Take activity. Revell, the authentic model-building experience since 1945, looks to re-introduce model-building to families attending the Palm Beach International Raceway’s “Super Chevy Show presented by Chevrolet Performance” this year.
The Midway will boast a variety of vendors, such as: Lively Lights, Muscle Express, Lashway Motorsports, Horsepower Sales, Extreme Performance, Costco, Jupiter Welding, Kemco Tire & Auto, Solar Life, Line First, Eddie Deubel, Resurrection Muscle Cars, Miranda Built, Trans American Musclecar, Palm Beach RV, Auto Elites, Ink Link Tattoos, MCI Institute of Technology, Performance Center Auto Repair, Pro Automotive, South Florida Chevrolet Dealers, Speed & Truck World, So Fl Custom & Collision and Deals on Wheels.
